Why Sooqr is attending Web Summit 2019 - Part 2 Albert Mombarg
‘Experience, enthusiasm and a great conversation’
Next week, a delegate of our Troopers will be flying over to Portugal to attend tech event Web Summit, in Lisbon. The huge event, named ‘the best technology conference on the planet’, by Forbes, will be held November 4 -7. Leading up to it, our attending Troopers will be letting you know their thoughts on the event and why they are going. Today’s edition: Albert Mombarg, CEO of Sooqr.
What do you want to take away from the event?
‘Web Summit will hopefully bring us some inspiration and ideas for new product concepts, partnerships & market opportunities. I hope to speak to peers in the tech/e-commerce industry to learn from them how to grow our SaaS-based ecommerce scale-up. I’d also like to meet experienced industry investors to find inroads into other interesting markets, within and outside of the EU.’
What value do you bring?
‘Experience, enthusiasm and a great conversation. I'll be a sparring partner for potential partners in the e-commerce SaaS space, to jointly define a potentially fruitful partnership. Also, we’re offering the Sooqr portfolio to help create synergies for potential customers and (web) agencies. Throughout the event I'll be available for wild and out-of-box conceptual discussions. This, to come with new inspiring product/service concepts that will rock the world of e-commerce and conversion optimisation.’
Most looking forward to?
‘I’m looking forward to learn a thing or two from peers that have been in the same position as we, I, am now. Scaling up. There are two speakers I don’t want to miss: Werner Vogels, CTO of Amazon. As an AI enthusiast, I am very interested in attending his presentation. As we are migrating to AWS at the moment, it will be great to hear what AWS is doing with AI. Another speaker I’m looking forward to is Jorg Rheinboldt, managing director APX Axel Springer Porsche. I’m very passionate about cars...So attending the Automotive - Auto/Tech & Talk Robot Track and hear all about how startups can collaborate with the big players would be amazing. As are knowing his thoughts on how the branch enabling startups to go from good to great.’
The annual Web Summit brings together people and companies that are redefining the global tech industry, and gathers the founders and CEOs of tech companies, fast-growing startups, policymakers and heads of state to ask a simple question: where to next? Within the Summit, Sooqr is part of the BETA programme: representing the most promising early-stage and returning startups.
During the event, we’ll be giving away free advice on your current onsite search engine, onsite search in general, e-commerce, and we’ll even answer any questions you have concerning the Dutch market! Obviously, we’d love people to try our awesome search straight away, but we do want people to know why, first. We’ll be giving people two ways of checking the necessity of using optimized onsite search. Through an audit, and an ROI calculator. Not attending Web Summit, but still, want to take a closer look at what Sooqr could do for your business? Take a look here or here. And did you know we're one of 42 Dutch companies attending? Dutch platform Emerce wrote a little piece about it!
