The Pragmatic Programmer: From Journeyman to Master
By Andrew Hunt & David Thomas

’This book is rightfully considered one of the greats about the 'craft' of programming. Unlike many books about programming which are usually written from the perspective of the companies who are trying to sell you their technology, this book is written 'from the trenches' by, and for, programmers.

It tackles the many challenges that software development represents by exploring anecdotes given by the authors which are then used to help elaborate on the concepts and approaches for continual personal and code improvements and building the necessary flexibility of mindset that is required in this field of constant and rapidly changing technology.

It unashamedly promotes the position that a programmer 'jack of all trades' is far more useful than a 'master of one', at least for the vast majority of programming problems, and in many ways was prescient of the current crop of cloud-based, Internet-scale, polyglot environments and the mindset required to successfully deliver appropriate solutions for such.’
